Create your measurement profile
To create your made-to-measure shirt, enter your measurements using one of the 3 methods below:
- Standard size – choose your size, your collar size and the fit you prefer.
- Measurements from your body – take the measurements on your own body, following our step-by-step instructions.
- Measurements from a shirt – use a shirt you already own that fits you well, following our instructions to measure it.
Whichever method you choose, follow the instructions carefully and enter the measurements accurately. That is what lets us make your shirt with the fit you want.
For anything unusual about your measurements or your fit, contact our customer service.
Choose your method
Standard size
- Choose your neck size from the table (37 to 50).
- The quickest way: no measuring needed.
- The finished shirt will depend on the fit you choose (Slim or Custom).
- Best if you already know your shirt size.
From your body
- Measure directly on your body.
- Enter your body measurements exactly as taken, with nothing added. The only exception is the neck, for which we give you separate instructions.
- The finished shirt will depend on the fit you choose.
- We suggest this way, because it lets you choose a different fit for each of your shirts.
From a shirt
- Measure a shirt you own that fits you well.
- You can make changes if you need to.
- The finished shirt will match the measurements you give, and the fit you choose will not change them.
- We suggest this way if you want a shirt exactly to the measurements you give.
How to measure your body
To make a shirt to your measurements, we ask you to measure directly on the body, with someone else’s help and a tailor’s tape measure.
You can enter the measurements in centimetres or inches, and they are saved to your Piacemolto profile. You can then use them for your next orders, even with a different model or a different style.
If you would rather take the measurements from a shirt you already own that fits you well, go back and choose "From a shirt".
How to measure the neck
Run the tape around the neck. Slip one finger between the tape and the neck, so the collar has the ease you want: the shirt collar will be made to this measurement.
How to measure the chest
Measure around the fullest part of the chest. Take the measurement snug against the body: the ease comes from the fit you choose, not from the tape.
How to measure the bicep
Bend the arm and put the tape around the fullest part of the muscle.
How to measure the waist
Measure around the waist at its fullest, level with the navel. Take it snug against the body: the ease comes from the fit you choose.
How to measure the hips
Measure around the hips at their widest, around the seat.
How to measure the shoulders
Measure across the top of the shoulders, from bone to bone.
How to measure the sleeve
Measure from the shoulder to the wrist with the arm bent at a right angle. Start from the same point on the shoulder you used for the shoulder measurement, and finish just below the wrist bone.
How to measure the wrist
Measure around the wrist at the joint, where you wear a watch. Take it snug against the skin.
How to measure the length
Measure from the base of the neck to just below the seat.

How to measure a shirt
Choose a shirt that fits you particularly well, to use as your reference. The measurements you take are used exactly as given, with nothing added: the new shirt will have the same dimensions as the one you measured.
Lay the shirt on a flat surface — a table is fine — button it up and keep it smooth, without creases. Use a soft tape measure, held against the cloth but not pulled tight.
If you would rather the shirt followed your body as it is now, instead of a shirt you already own, go back and choose “From your body”.
How to measure the neck
Open the collar, lay it flat on a table and measure from where the button is sewn to the centre of the buttonhole.
How to measure the chest
Measure from the left side to the right, level with the underarm.
How to measure the bicep
Measure around the arm five centimetres below the underarm seam, keeping the tape square to the sleeve.
How to measure the waist
Place the tape between the second and third buttons up from the bottom, and measure across the waist from edge to edge.
How to measure the hips
Place the tape along the bottom of the shirt and measure from edge to edge.
How to measure the shoulders
Button the shirt and lay it face down. Find where the seam joins the shoulder to the back, and measure from the top of that seam across the back to the seam on the other side.
How to measure the sleeve
Lay the shirt face down and measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
How to measure the wrist
Lay the cuff flat and measure it from side to side.
How to measure the length
Measure from where the collar joins the body down to the bottom of the shirt.
